Well, last post I talked about downsizing a bit and mentioned my colocated servers. Well, one potential locale for my move is the Pacific Northwest, specifically Seattle or Bellingham in Washington State, so I did a little looking around and found a colocation facility that does per-server hosting in Tukwila, so that could serve as a new colo if that’s where I end up.
Once I decommission my servers in Coloblox, I’ll spin up a Linode VPS in the interim to use as a WireGuard endpoint and off-site Pi-Hole, even if it’ll forward the domain to my on-premise domain controller, which will of course be offline for a while whenever the journey happens.
I’m honestly tempted to go ahead and do this after I migrate my websites back to DreamHost, but that gives more e-waste to deal with… I’ll probably keep the Supermicro server though as a standalone firewall is worth having…
At any rate… I will be staying where I am for a while yet, and hopefully it’s enough time for me to put enough money back so that when the “for sale” sign goes up here, I’ll be ready to head to wherever my new home will be…
